When you want to volunteer with "A Heart For China" there are some questions that come to your mind like: the requirements, your commitment, the age of a volunteer, what do we do and maybe a few more.
Joining our volunteer organisation group is a very easy thing to do as long as you can share your love and care towards orphans, disabled children, poor people or elderly in China. It is a simple gesture to show them you care and make them feel appreciated. There are different ways of doing charity and it doesn't need to be complicated....the best feeling we all can give and share is LOVE. It is free and we have plenty of it!
Why do you want to become a volunteer?
People choose to volunteer for a variety of reasons. For some it offers the chance to give something back to the community or make a difference to the people around them. For others it provides an opportunity to develop new skills or build on existing experience and knowledge.
What makes a volunteer?
According to Merriam Webster, a volunteer is “a person who expresses a willingness to undertake a service.” ... Being a volunteer means that you are offering something like your time or expertise – something that is not required nor an obligation. You do not volunteer for the pursuit of a monetary prize or recognition.
What do the volunteers do?
Volunteering is generally considered an altruistic activity where an individual or group provides services for no financial or social gain "to benefit another person, group or organization". ... Many volunteers are specifically trained in the areas they work, such as medicine, education, or emergency rescue.
In volunteering are several different roles like volunteer work organizer, advertising and reporting volunteer, event coordinator, photography, designing and social media marketeer, and others. We also have a section about volunteering online with AHFC so you can check that page out.
As a volunteer you can make a difference by helping others, support them and give them your personal time. In a world where time goes very quick it is important not to loose sight of something like social contact to express appreciation, kindness and love. It is also a good way to learn values like respect, integrity, kindness, understanding, honesty,... Although as a volunteer we not expect anything in return but it is not fully true. A volunteer will have the opportunity to gain confidence, meet new friends, be part of a community, learn new skills, take on a challenge and of course the most important thing and that is to have fun!
If we are talking about skills of a volunteer then we think mostly on the following ones:
- A Fearless Approach
- Having Infinite Patience
- Think Creatively
- Eager to Take Initiative
- Staying Humble
- Driven by Passion
- Working In Teams
